Where {yourdomain}.co.uk is used in the example below, please substitute your own domain name
Control Panel
Your domain has a control panel athttp://control.{yourdomain}.co.uk
Your logon (username) = your password
Controls for all of your domains registered under one account are available from a single control panel and you can add email mailboxes, ftp accounts and databases etc from here too if needed.
Webmail
Webmail is available (in addition to your normal pop3 email)http://webmail.{yourdomain}.co.uk
logon with your email address and your password
You can access your email, send emails and adjust your spam filter settings from here. You can also set up autoresponders. Autoresponders are useful to send 'out of the office' and 'on vacation' messages if you're going to be out of touch for some time.
It's a good idea to look at this page occasionally as it contains your spam filter. If you are missing any mail you think you should have received, you may find that it's been caught by the spam filter and not downloaded to your email client. If this is the case, mark the relevant mail as 'not spam' and the address will be added to the spam filter 'trusted list' and no mail from that sender will be marked as spam in the future.
The webmail page is simply an alternative way for you to access your mail. Mail you see in the inbox on the webmail page is the same mail that ends up in your email client - you do not have to use webmail if you don't want to - it is simply there for your convenience (and can be useful when you need to get your mail if you are away from your own computer).
Pop3 Email
POP3 is the 'standard' way of getting your email. Pop3 allows you to use an email client like Outlook or Thunderbird to download email onto your own computer for off-line use & archiving.
Your pop3 settings are as follows:
pop3 server = mail.{yourdomain}.co.uk
password = your password
smtp server = mail.{yourdomain}.co.uk
smtp server needs authorisation. Use the same username & password as your incoming (pop3 server)
